The PTGAA have represented and supported Tour Guides, Tour Managers, Site Guides and related occupations since 1991. We offer ongoing professional skills and career development opportunities which can be utilised Australia wide, as well as overseas.

PTGAAs high standards requires all new professional members to gain the highest benchmark for Guides: The Guide of Australia Accreditation (GOA). This quality requirement offers a circle of safety, to the wider Australian Tourism and Incentives industry, and adds great value and peace of mind when using the services of a PTGAA, Guide of Australia Accredited Guide.

Our sought after members are supported to develop and maintain an ongoing high standard of expertise through professional career exercises, mentoring, training modules, and networking opportunities.

The PTGAA is a founding member of the national peak industry body for Australian tour guide associations, Guiding Organisations Australia Inc. (GOA).

VICTORIAN PARLIAMENTARY INQUIRY COVID IMPACT

TGA (formerly PTGAA) was invited to lodge a submission to the Victorian Parliamentary enquiry to the impacts of COVID on tourism. 

The submission was  accepted and listed on the Victoria Government website. TGA has also applied to attend speak on behalf of our members at the Parliamentary enquiry and we are waiting for this to be accepted.

Austrade Enquiry Re imagining the Visitor Economy

The Reimagining the Visitor Economy Expert Panel has been appointed to advise industry and governments on the future of Australia’s visitor economy – which encompasses domestic and international tourism, international students, business and leisure travellers, as well as associated industries such as hospitality, aviation and accommodation.

TGA will be preparing a response on behalf of members. We welcome input to our submission or members can respond individually. Comments to office@tga.org.au
