Group Insurance Cover & Benefits
The PTGAA assists Members with cost of business by offering access to our group insurance, complying with all stipulated regulatory and industry requirements. The Cover is underwritten by Lloyds of London and Members can access the insurance either as Sole Traders, Site Guides or as a Business.
PD Professional Development Events
Members of the PTGAA are offered monthly Professional Development and Famils of sites across Melbourne as well as regionally across Victoria. We have just started to expand PDs inter-state into NSW and QLD, and aim to offer such to members nationwide. Most PDs are FOC, with the support of the Tourism Industry which acknowledges the value of professional guides promoting increased ticket sale and awareness of their sites.
Networking & Mentorship
The various networking events throughout the year, culminating in our AGM offer members and prospective new members access to the network, share experiences and learnings. Members include University professors lecturing in Tourism, experts in the area of Architecture and History now working as professional guides. Mentorship of newcomers to the industry is offered gladly with a view to encourage professionalism in our industry.
