PTGAA Learning Day 21st April

Our first 2017 Learning Day is shaping up to be a corker so lock in Friday 21st April now. The day will run from 9:30 am until 3pm and will be held at the Royal Historical Society of Victoria’s HQ at 239 A’Beckett St, Melbourne.

The program includes

  • Fiona Sweetman, Founder and CEO of the very successful Hidden Secrets Tours, will talk about the structure of the Tourism Industry and how jobs for guides come about. Fiona will also cover how to improve your marketing.
  • Travellers Aid will be telling us all about their long-standing organisation – one of Melbourne’s little known resources which can be the ace up every tour guide’s sleeve.
  • Metro Rail will be outlining the work over the next 9 years in central Melbourne as they start to tunnel under Melbourne to create our next underground rail service. The logistics of this huge project are fascinating and the work will impact on tour guiding in Melbourne for many years.
  • Also an update on all things to do with membership of PTGAA.

And don’t forget that the RHSV’s exhibition Remembering the ‘Burbs: 1850-1960 will be available for you to check out during the lunch hour or after the Learning Day.
